The Hôtel des Dromonts is more than a hotel, it is a monument. Its pine cone shape has inspired many architects, but none has been able to match the beauty and uniqueness of the building. It was built as a fan-shaped building, which allowed it to be perfectly integrated into the landscape, while at the same time providing a breathtaking view. The facades are covered with tavaillons, the small wooden tiles made of red cedar and larch that give Avoriaz its unique charm. The renovation of the hotel was decided by the label Maisons et Hôtels Sibuet, owner of the place. It has enabled some rooms to be enlarged and the decoration to be revisited while keeping the spirit of the 1960s. The modern meets the old in a cosy atmosphere conducive to rest. It is very successful, the magic works. The spa has also been redesigned and the lights are more subdued than they used to be. Outside there is also a jacuzzi and sauna for a unique experience in the cold winter. On the restaurant side, three very different places, still in the spirit of the 60s but using various trends that marked that era. If we had to pick a favourite, the choice would be the chic bistro, "Les Enfants Terribles". The Hôtel des Dromonts remains a human-sized establishment with its twenty-nine rooms and six suites. If you want to keep an unforgettable memory of a stay in the mountains, this is the place to be.
